Hot Hibernation: An Indoor, Bodyweight Circuit

iceberg

The polar vortex has ensured that “outside” is not an enticing prospect for many people right now.

So, fine, stay indoors and do this.

This circuit consists of eight of my very favorite bodyweight exercises, some of which I’m guessing you might not have seen before (big thanks to Scott Sonnon of TACFIT, Evolution Kettlebell Groundwork coach John Wolf and Primal Move founder Peter Lakatos for the creative additions).

Sit-Through 2-1

Perform three to five rounds to build muscle, burn fat and keep doldrums at bay.

1) 10 Mountain Climber Sprawls
2) 10 Tent Pushups
3) 10/10 Single-Leg Deadlifts
4) 10/10 Sit-Throughs
5) 10/10 Skater Squats
6) 10 Hand-Release Pushups
7) 10/10 Shinbox Extensions
8) 10/10 Door Pinch Rows

This is awesome Jen! On a side note, where are those pants from? I love them!

Love the “sit throughs.” How about more stuff on primal movements? Any source you could recommend?

Ron: Ken Froese has been developing a good workshop on ground movements (although not sure I’d call it Primal Movement). I took his workshop in December and loved it. I’ve been including the stuff I learned there into almost all of my workouts. Agatsu is a group I caught onto when learning about the shin box movement but haven’t taken any seminar; not sure what they’re all about.

    Great circuit Jen!

Thanks for this! I kicked off 2014 by doing this on New Year’s Day. I did 3 rounds and it took way longer than I thought but it felt good to start the new year with some solid BW movements.

Just finished 4 rounds of this while at the fire station today. Great stuff. Thanks.
