LWF Challenge Workout: The Holiday Helpingby Jennifer Blake
“Happy holidays/May the merry bells keep ringing/Happy holidays to you!” Growing up, my dad put my favorite of all Christmas crooners, Bing Crosby, on our record player (record player!) every year around this time. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting bitten by the holiday spirit and I can feel the enthusiasm spreading even to my workouts.
I’ve got another bodyweight circuit for you, but even without weights it is not to be underestimated. I find the stringing of Bear Crawls after Cossack Squats to be especially pleasing. I don’t know if you’ll be singing my praises when you’re finished–but I’ll take that chance.
For this one, all you need is your bod and a workout timer. If jumping like a star isn’t your bag, sub in alternating reverse lunges or bodyweight squats. If you’re still working on your pushup game, remember that elevating your hands on a box, couch or bench will help you keep your hips in line with your shoulders and the integrity of your pushups in check. Don’t forget: always lead with the chest, not the chin.
Grab a workout timer and prepare for “The Holiday Helping”!
